Police take 'no further action' against Alex Reid

Alex Reid has revealed police will be taking ''no further action'' against him in relation to his arrest at his and Chantelle Houghton's home earlier this week.
Alex Reid has declared his arrest a ''private matter'' and has revealed the police have ''taken no further action'' against him.
The cage fighter was placed in custody after allegedly trying to use force to break into the home he shares with his fiancee Chantelle Houghton in Brentwood, Essex, South East England, in the early hours of Wednesday morning (05.09.12).

A statement has now been posted on Alex's official website insisting the police have ceased investigating the incident.

The statement reads: ''In the early hours of this morning Alex was arrested at the address he shares with his partner Chantelle. The police were called following a disturbance. The reasons for Alex's arrest have been widely publicised and in some cases are inaccurate and based on conjecture.

''Alex considers this a private matter and therefore is not prepared to comment on it save to say that he assisted police with their enquiries and following that, the police have taken no further action.''

Alex - who has a 10-week-old daughter Dolly with Chantelle - was reportedly heard screaming outside his home to be let in and the commotion woke other residents.

The cross-dressing 37-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and using violence to secure entry to a property after neighbours alerted the police to what was happening at their Brentwood home.

Former 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner Chantelle recently admitted the couple's relationship had hit a rocky patch, saying: ''Things have been really strained. There's never a day without drama.''
