Brooklyn Decker's visit to Alaskan animals

Brooklyn Decker had the privilege of embarking on a week-long trip to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.
Brooklyn Decker has been ''reconnecting with nature'' at a wildlife refuge in Alaska.

The model and actress went on the week-long adventure to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the American state - which is one of the largest reserves on the continent and it is home to a range of rare animals.

The picturesque location is so remote that just 50 people visit each year and the 'What To Expect When You're Expecting' actress revealed her excitement at being fortunate enough to go along.

She told People magazine: ''Getting outdoors has always been an important part of my life. Going on a Sierra Club Outing to the Arctic was an enlightening experience and gave me a chance to reconnect with nature.

''Anyone who spends time enjoying our planet knows exactly why it's important to protect places like the Arctic.''

The 25-year-old beauty - who is married to tennis star Andy Roddick - decided to swap the red carpet for the adventure, which saw her go white-water rafting through Brooks Range and see the Northern Lights.

She also watched rare species in their natural environments including red foxes, golden eagles and caribou.
