PAGASA - Weather Forecast August 27, 2012

Synopsis:

At 2:00 a.m. today, the center of Typhoon "IGME" {TEMBIN} was located based on satellite and surface data at 420 km West of Basco, Batanes (20.5°:N, 117.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move East Southeast at 7 kph. Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon. 

Forecast:

Northern Luzon and the Western section of Central Luzon will experience occasional to frequent rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The Western section of Southern Luzon will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
