ZAMBOANGA
CITY—An earthquake rocked some parts of Mindanao on Monday afternoon, the
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
Rommel
Allan Labayog of Phivolcs here said the 5.5-magnitude quake, which occurred at
2:56 p.m. offshore of Cotabato, was tectonic in origin.
The
tremor was felt at Intensity 2 in Zamboanga City, he said. It was also felt in
Davao City.
“These
are all initial data. We are still monitoring …,” Labayog said.
Some
Cotabato City residents said the quake was “just mild.”
