PAGASA - Weather Forecast as of September 22, 2012


Synopsis:
At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm "LAWIN" (JELAWAT) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 405 km East of Borongan, Eastern Samar (12.0°N, 129.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is forecast to move north northwest slowly. 
Forecast:
Eastern Samar will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Sorsogon, Leyte province and the rest of Samar province will have rains and gusty winds. MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Mindanao and the rest of Bicol region and of Visayas will have cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers and thunderstorms.


Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over the Bicol region and Eastern Visayas and coming from the west to southwest over the Caraga region and Davao region and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the southwest to west will prevail over Palawan, rest of Visayas and rest of Mindanao and from the northeast to northwest over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.
